Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class, 2012

  • Brabus Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class, 2012
The attached photos show the roadster equipped with Brabus Monoblock F wheels painted the new exclusive 'Liquid Titanium' color. They are mounted in size 8.5Jx20 in front and in size 9.5Jx20 on the rear axle. Brabus recommends high-performance tires from Continental, Pirelli or Yokohams in sizes 235/30 ZR 20 on the front axle and 275/25 ZR 20 in back. The Brabus side sill attachments emphasize the sporty lateral lines of the car and seem to make the rear fenders wider visually.
The rear of the car receives some added sporty character with the Brabus diffuser and the Brabus rear spoiler on the trunk lid. The diffuser is integrated with utmost precision into the production bumper and features a centrally mounted rear reflector. These aerodynamic-enhancement components also serve more than just a visual function; they reduce lift in the rear as well.

The sporty-elegant Brabus aerodynamic-enhancement components give the roadster an even more thrilling appearance. The two Brabus front spoiler lips that attach on the left and right side of the production apron and the striking bezels for the daytime running lights lend the SLK a more striking nose. But that's not all: the spoilers also reduce lift on the front axle which particularly benefits directional stability at high speeds.

A major contribution to the sporty appearance of the new SLK from Bottrop likewise comes from the Brabus Monoblock wheels, which are available in various one-piece or multi-piece designs with diameters ranging from 17 to 20 inches.

Brabus sport springs were custom-developed to match the conversion to these king-sized tires. They are calibrated to work with the production shocks, and lower the ride height of the two-seater by some 30 millimeters (1.2 inches). Brabus also offers various versions of its high-performance brake systems for the new SLK.

These measures furthermore make the new SLK perfectly suited for some extra power. In a first step Brabus offers efficient and reasonably priced Brabus ECO PowerXtra CGI tuning for the four-cylinder direct-injection engines. The processor-controlled Brabus ECO PowerXtra CGI auxiliary control modules are custom-tailored to each respective engine variant and can be installed by any authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer in less than an hour thanks to their 'plug and play' design. All performance kits are backed by the one-of-a-kind Brabus Tuning Warranty® of three years, up to 100,000 kilometers / 62,000 miles (updated November 2006). Brabus recommends Aral high-performance lubricants.

To retain the engine's longevity and fatigue strength these kits are designed to only activate the performance-enhancing mapping when all parameters such as engine temperature etc. are in the green. This effectively prevents the performance increase from negatively affecting the service life of the engine.

After the installation of the Brabus ECO PowerXtra B20 CGI performance kit the four-cylinder direct-injection engine of the SLK 200 BlueEFFICIENCY produces an extra 26 hp (25 bhp) / 19 kW of power and an additional 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) of peak torque.

The new SLK 250 BlueEFFICIENCY can be upgraded at Brabus in two stages. The Brabus ECO PowerXtra B25 CGI module bumps power output of the four-cylinder direct-injection engine from standard 204 hp (201 bhp) / 150 kW to 230 hp (226 bhp) / 169 kW at just 5,500 rpm.

Other ten additional horsepower can be realized with the supplementary installation of a larger intercooler and an electronically controlled Brabus sport wastegate valve that are part of the Brabus ECO PowerXtra B25S CGI performance kit. 240 hp (236 bhp) / 176 kW of power and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque in overboost mode accelerate the two-seater in 6.2 seconds from rest to 100 km/h on the way to a top speed of 248 km/h (154 mph).

On the road all CGI engines performance-tuned by Brabus deliver not just excellent driving performance but also optimized pulling power from low engine speeds and favorable fuel economy. Just as important for the Brabus engine specialists were exemplary low emissions: like the corresponding non-tuned engines all engines with Brabus ECO PowerXtra CGI performance kit meet strict Euro V emission limits.

The installation of the Brabus stainless-steel sport exhaust system is advantageous not only for tuned engines. Its four tailpipes featuring the typical Brabus design not only give the roadster an even more exclusive appearance but also produce an even sportier exhaust note for all engine variants.

Other focus of the Brabus refinement of the new Mercedes SLK is the interior. Brabus offers an extensive program for the roadster: it includes attractive accessories such as high-gloss polished stainless-steel scuff plates with Brabus logo and sporty elements such as aluminum foot pedals and shifter.

Requests for even more individuality can be fulfilled by the Brabus upholstery shop in the form of exclusive interiors crafted from especially soft and breathable Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara.

Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee, 2012

Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee, 2012

Designed by the craftsmen and women of Bentley's Mulliner division, the creators of the State Limousine presented to Queen Elizabeth II in 2002, just 60 examples of the Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition have been created with each car representing a year of Her Majesty's reign.

Bentley Motors and its customers in Beijing celebrated HM The Queen's Birthday and her Diamond Jubilee year at the gala opening of one of the world's largest Bentley dealerships - a new landmark in the cosmopolitan Sanlitun district. To mark the occasion, Bentley unveiled the first example of its Bentley Mulsanne Diamond Jubilee Edition.

These very special Bentleys are distinguished by a range of exquisite, handcrafted features paying tribute to the Jubilee. These include bespoke embroidery to all four headrests using gold stitching, veneered picnic tables in the rear cabin decorated with a gold overlay depicting a royal carriage used for great occasions of state as well as luxurious, hide cushions featuring the same motif.

2 beautiful, highly-polished stainless steel treadplate plaques featuring the famous 'Bentley Mulliner, England' script and 'Diamond Jubilee Edition' have also been commissioned for these Mulsanne models.

Mulliner came to prominence when the family was commissioned to build carriages for the Royal Mail in 1760. By the late 19th Century Mulliner was hand-crafting the coachwork for the new "horseless carriage" - the first cars.

Mulliner's association with Bentley harks back to the very beginning of the marque's story when W.O. Bentley commissioned Mulliner to build the bodywork for the famous EXP1. This partnership continued to flourish, producing the streamlined contours of the revolutionary 1952 R-Type Continental, among many other iconic Bentley designs. Now known as Bentley Mulliner and a wholly-owned division of Bentley Motors, the Mulliner team offers a specialist personal commissioning department for Bentley customers and limited edition cars.

True to the Mulliner tradition, the Diamond Jubilee Edition cars feature a spectrum of paint and hide colours that sets them apart from other Bentleys and which stylishly uses various combinations and shades of red, white and blue (the colours of the Union Flag) to underscore the British connection. Hand-applied Single Fine Lines - using these same three colours - provide an elegant finishing touch as do two distinctive Bentley 'B' badges positioned on each 'D' pillar.

China is now the largest market for Bentley Motors. In 2011 the iconic British manufacturer delivered 1,664 cars to Chinese customers and during the first quarter of 2012 sales in the region grew by 84.66 percent compared with the same period in 2011. Bentley's dealership presence is set to further expand in the next 12 months as the company introduces its latest high-performance coupe and convertible Continental models to Chinese customers in 2012.

The Bentley Mulsanne captures the essence of the Bentley marque. It is elegant yet distinctly sporting in character, delivering effortless performance, while within its sumptuous cabin, advanced technology sits discreetly with handcrafted luxury. Designed and engineered at Crewe from the ground-up, the Mulsanne has reaffirmed the marque's intent to create a luxury grand tourer with refined performance, unparalleled levels of interior luxury and coach building skills to the fore.

Skoda Fabia Combi RS, 2011

  •  Skoda Fabia Combi RS, 2011

Škoda Auto has a long-standing association with motor sport. From its earliest years, competition cars from Mladá Boleslav have been winning on the world's racing circuits and rally stages. The latest RS road cars carry on this sporting tradition, which gives the second-generation Škoda Fabia RS a head start on the competition. And now for the first time there are two RS versions in the Škoda Fabia range: both hatchback and estate bodystyles continue the RS range's renowned combination of sporty performance with exceptional fuel efficiency and environmental-friendliness.

The inside, new sports seats feature the RS symbol on their backrests, while Å koda Fabia RS customers can also order red seat covers and black floor mats with silver or red offset seams depending on the upholstery colour. The Onyx-coloured dashboard is equipped with a three-spoke leather steering wheel with an optional multi-function version with gear change paddles for manual control of the standard seven-speed automatic DSG gearbox. As with all versions of the Å koda Fabia, the steering wheel is adjustable for height and reach, with the driver's seat also benefiting from height adjustment. The steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake handle are leather upholstered as standard, while the pedals are fitted with stainless steel treads. All Å koda Fabia RS models are fitted with Climatic air conditioning, an 'RS' dash insert as well as a four-speaker stereo system as standard.

Both versions of the new Å koda Fabia RS are unique front bumpers with integrated fog lamps, which can also be equipped as a option with a cornering light function or LED daytime running lights. The RS symbol sits proudly within the grille's chromed frame, while red-painted brake callipers hint at their performance potential from behind the spokes of bespoke 17-inch 'Gigaro' aluminium wheels. As well as tinted windows, the rear sports a new bumper design and a dual-pipe exhaust. The roof and the rear spoiler of the hatchback are available in black, white and silver on request and depending on the car's body colour.

The roof spoiler on both hatchback and estate versions increases downforce at higher speeds which, when combined with the uprated running gear and performance-orientated electronic driver aids - ESP, ABS, TCS, TPM and HHC - gives the Å koda Fabia RS safe and agile handling. Meanwhile the standard XDS differential increases driving pleasure by braking the inside front wheel when accelerating through corners, transferring torque to the outside wheel. The lateral torque helps to pull the Å koda Fabia RS into bends, enhancing its cornering ability and gives the athletic Å koda's newfound agility.

With a top speed of 224 km/h - 226 km/h for the estate version - and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds, both models offer truly sporty performance. Å koda Auto has introduced a dual-charged four cylinder petrol engine to its range for the first time, which produces 132 kW (180 bhp) from only 1.4 litre capacity and a torque peak of 250 Nm from 2,000 rpm through to 4,500 rpm. Despite the impressive performance, combined fuel consumption in the NEDC measuring cycle is very low: both RS versions require just 6.4 litres of fuel to drive 100 kilometres.

The feat of power and efficiency is achieved by fine-tuned technology. The 1.4 TSI engine features direct fuel injection and dual-charging via a turbocharger with wastegate and a mechanical, shiftable supercharger. In addition, an intercooler increases air volume for compression within the combustion chambers. The fuel pump carries the fuel to the injectors with pressure of up to 150 bar, while the camshaft controlling the two inlet valves is continuously adjustable on each cylinder. Both shafts are controlled via a maintenance-free chain drive. The 1.4 TSI's cylinder block is made of cast iron, the crankshaft of steel.

The supercharger and turbocharger work hand-in-hand to provide harmonious power delivery across the engine's rev range. The mechanically-driven supercharger supplies the combustion chambers up to engine speeds of 2,400 rpm when the engine is under the part load, while under full load it is uncoupled at a maximum of 3,500 rpm. By this point the exhaust-driven turbocharger has reached its full effectiveness and continues to feed the engine in the higher rev range. The use of double fuel injection during cold starting reduces harmful emissions by allowing the catalyst and lambda sensor to reach optimum operating temperature after driving just a few metres, guaranteeing effective exhaust gas treatment.

But it's not just the harmonious power delivery that makes both Å koda Fabia RS versions perfectly suited to daily use. Its luggage capacity (300 to 1,163 litres in the hatchback; the estate, 480 to 1,460 litres) and the practical loading facility also add to its usefulness. Its handling is distinguished by its incredibly high agility, without adversely affecting the ride comfort. However, neither Å koda Fabia RS, hatch nor estate are factory approved for use as towing vehicles.
